Some information about Haxby and Wigginton Traders Association. Established in 2018, we represent some of the 200+ businesses based in the town & village.
Known as Haxebi in the Domesday Book of 1086, the town centre of Haxby, which is known as "The Village" and which has 18th & 19th century architecture, has been a Conservation Area since 1976.
With Haxby to its East, the village was known as Wichestun in the 11th century & Wygynton in the 13th century. It was historically part of the North Riding of Yorkshire until 1974.
